ASEAN Student Contest on Information Security 2023
ASCIS 2023 is the 16th time that the Student Contest on Information Security has been organized in Vietnam and the 5th time open to ASEAN countries.
For registration, students from all institutes, universities, colleges throughout Vietnam and other ASEAN countries are eligible to register for participating in the contest. The maximum member of each team is no more than 4. The contest consists of 2 rounds
The Starting round
On Oct 7th, 2023 the Starting round officially took place lasting for 4 hours. Upto 233 teams competed virtually in this round in which 157 teams from 33 institutes in Vietnam and 66 teams from 30 institutes of ASEAN countries (Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei and Thailand).
The Final round
On Oct 28th, 2023 the Final round officially took place lasting for 9 hours divided into 2 stages: "Jeopardy" and "Attack-Defense and Jeopardy" with 80 teams from 33 institutes in Vietnam and 35 teams from 20 institutes of ASEAN countries.
- Phase 1: Teams take the Jeopardy test in 4 hours.
- Phase 2: 20 excellent teams of phase 1 compete in the “Attack-Defense and Jeopady” tournament, which lasts for 5 hours in the form of Attack-Defense. The remaining teams continue to compete in Jeopardy format for 05 hours to compete for the “Jeopardy” prize.
In the end, ASCIS 2023 found out its winners:
