The final round of the ASEAN Student Contest on Information Security 2021 took place online on November 13, 2021 with the participation of 10 Vietnamese teams and 7 teams from 7 other ASEAN countries (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei).
This Final round was very exciting and thrilling for 8 hours. However, the chase for scores only took place in the Top 5 with teams from Vietnamese universities, including: University of Engineering and Technology (VNU Hanoi), Academy of Cryptography Techniques, VNUHCM-University of Science
The final result is as follows:
• First prize: Pawsitive team ( VNU University of Science and Technology)
• Second prizes (02 prizes): N0n$la$ (HCM Academy of Cryptography Techniques) and HCMUS.BlackPink (VNUHCM-University of Science).
• Third prizes (03 prizes): UIT.Underrated (VNUHCM-University of Information Technology); BkSec.Oggy and Madagascar (Hanoi University of Science and Technology).
• Consolation prizes (05 prizes): UIT.W3 (University of Information Technology, National University of Ho Chi Minh City), KMA.L3g1On (Academy of Cryptography Techniques), Team L3V3L1NG (National University of Laos), PTIT.Chongxun (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology), Binary Rabbits (HCM Academy of Cryptography Techniques).
Right after the contest ended, there was the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony at Hanoi bridge point, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of Vietnam Information Security Association; Mr. To Hong Nam, Deputy Director of IT Department, Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Trieu Minh Long, Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Information and Communications; together with representatives of some sponsors for the Contest.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, VNISA Chairman Nguyen Thanh Hung affirmed: With social responsibility to contribute to the development of information security human resources in Vietnam and contribute to affirming Vietnam’s position in information security. With confidence in the region, VNISA will continue to maintain this useful playground in the coming years and hope that the contest will be more supported by the Association of ASEAN Nations.
