Results of the Final Round of ASEAN Student Contest on Information Security 2024

On October 19, 2024, the Final Round of the ASEAN Student Contest on Information Security 2024 was held simultaneously at the competition clusters in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and ASEAN.

This is the 17th time the competition has been held in Vietnam and the 6th time it has been expanded to ASEAN students. The Final Round of the competition took place with the participation of 56 Vietnamese teams and 27 teams from 9 other ASEAN countries, including:

  • The competition cluster in Hanoi has 28 teams from from 18 schools, competing at the Military Technical Academy
  • The competition cluster in Ho Chi Minh City has 28 teams from 19 schools, competing at the University of Information Technology – Ho Chi Minh City National University
  • The ASEAN exam cluster has 27 teams from 26 schools in the remaining 9 ASEAN member countries, competing entirely online

This year’s Final Round is divided into 2 groups with different competition content, held simultaneously.

  • Group A competes in the form of direct attack-defense, including 20 teams from the group of teams with the highest results in the Preliminary Round of 20 Schools (each School selects 1 team with the highest score).
  • Group B competes in jeopardy format, including 63 teams in the remaining high-scoring group of the Preliminary round, each participating school has 1 team participating in Group B of the Final round.

The teams worked for 8 hours continuously (without breaks). Immediately after the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee held a ceremony to award the teams at the competition clusters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (the Organizing Committee will send the prizes to the winning ASEAN teams).
